if you dont have valid
RPL file for your phone, DO NOT FLASH IT, cause will totally kill your phone.
Needed equipment and files:
1. Latest NSS + RPL file
2. F1 device


For a long time was accepted that downgrade of BB5 is not possible. Please

check the results of our latest experiments, they show that is possible with

very little effort.



Our test is proof of concept and was done on 2 pcs of 6630. I am attaching

some screenshots from the process for easier understanding.



Procedure:



1. Erase the whole flash with custom erase file

2. Flash any old version

3. Upload PM file with section 1 and 309 (could be skipped if only for test)

4. Upload NPC, Simlocks and Rebuild the Security Area



For the test i have flashed this file first:

RM-1_dp_v_11.00_MCUSW6.050308_EURO.exe



For downgrade i used:

RM-1_dp_v_5.00_MCUSW5.050308_APAC.exe

Phone is fully working after downgrade.

It is possible to flash even the oldest i have:

RM-1_dp_v_1.0_MCUSW2.0439129_EURO.exe, but i dont think the

security area is possible to be rebuilt in this very early version.

So if you flash this version only Local and Test mode are available, in

Normal Mode we have Contact Retailer cause of ST_SECURITY failed.
